Room Thirteen was located at 26 Dorset Street, in London's East End. It was the home of Jack the Ripper victim Mary Kelly. Mary's body was later discovered there by her landlord. After the murder, Dorset Street was 'irredeemable'. The whole street was then demolished in the 1920s and a warehouse was built.

In The Name of the Star, this is the site of an all-night-long vigil held to honour the historic and contemporary victims of the Ripper and his copy-cat killer.
